You can never have too many individuals bringing laughter and joy to the world.
I recently got the chance to meet one of my current favorite comedians (w/ potential to make it into the all time greats list), Joe Wong.
By any chance you haven’t heard of him..
Here he is making his network television debut on Letterman…
Doin’ his thing on Ellen…
..and if you really have leisurely time, check out his set at the Annual Radio & Television Correspondents’ Dinner (pts. 1 and 2)
Joe Wong, you are my hero.

omg he’s awesome! i love how he laughed himself on the jerry springer american people joke… LOL! much respect to him – thanks for sharing!
It’s always great to see Asian Americans making moves, breaking stereotypes and garnering much needed mainstream media attention. There are so many talent folks out there and it’s good to see some of our own finally getting that kind of notice.
Take for example Jeremy Lin. I went to high school with this kid, and it seems like just yesterday we were cracking jokes and reenacting scenes from Minority Report in freshmen, contemporary English class.
Now he is on the verge of signing a contract with either the Warriors, Lakers, an East Coast team, or more likely the Mavericks. His NBA dreams are so close to coming true, and this would make him the very 1st Asian American to play in the NBA.
HISTORIC!!
Back in high school he was dubbed Player of the Year ’06 by virtually every California publication, yet he received 0 Division I scholarships. Stanford passed him up, and UCLA gave him an invite to walk on last minute when he had already signed with Harvard. However, the oldest school in the nation, Harvard, does not offer athletic scholarships. Jeremy shined at Harvard and although his college career ended disappointingly with a loss to Cornell for the Ivy title, his leadership and playmaking skills as well as some amazing shots already made him a star.
He was undrafted in the NBA Draft but offered an invitation to summer league by Dallas. Watch him put the moves on the 1st overall pick of 2010, John Wall that made Jeremy Lin a fan favorite.

Another pioneer for the advancement of Asian Americans, couldn’t be more proud of my friend.

Jin, this Joe Wong guy is too funny. I am going to show these clips to my students. It’s totally cool to speak English with an accent. He is good and people honor him for who he is, not what he sounds like. =)
Man, Joe is hilarious! I will be checking him out! These clips were gold! : D
